WHAT IS BUILDING HEATING SYSTEM:

Space Heating

Building heating systems are used for increasing the temperature of space in buildings or industrial processes.

A heating process is primarily achieved by

• free convection (electric heaters, radiator, etc.)

A heating system is a mechanism for maintaining temperatures at an acceptable level; by using thermal energy within a home, office, or other dwelling. Often part of an HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) system. A heating system may be a central heating system or distributed.

WORKING OF BUILDING HEATING SYSTEM:

The heat is circulated through the building either by fans forcing heated air through ducts, circulation of low-pressure steam to radiators in each heated room, or pumps that circulate hot water through room radiators. Primary energy sources may be fuels like coal or wood, oil, kerosene, natural gas, or electricity.

WHY BUILDING HEATING SYSTEM IS IMPORTANT?

An Introduction to Heating Systems | Turbomachinery blog

This section considers the three main reasons why we heat historic buildings: the comfort of the occupants, protection of other building services like water pipes being damaged by cold temperatures and conservation of collections.

BUILDING HEATING SYSTEM WORKING IN HVAC:

Cold air from your home is warmed via the fuel within the furnace heat exchanger. Exhaust fuel from combustion is piped out of the furnace through a vent. A blower fan inside the furnace directs the newly warmed air through the various ducts in your home.

TYPES OF HEATING SYSTEM

4 Types of Heating Systems | Heat Pumps, Boilers, Furnaces

The most common types used for heating systems are

  1. Furnaces
  2. Boilers
  3. Heat pumps

BEST HEATING SYSTEM :

Overall, furnace systems are the most efficient for heating the home and especially natural gas designs. Heating air with a heat exchanger, they force warmed air through wall ducts into all rooms for a whole-house cozy feel during all weathers

FURNACES HEATING SYSTEM

Furnaces heat air and distribute the heated air through the house using ducts. Boilers heat water and provide either hot water or steam for heating. Steam is distributed via pipes to steam radiators, and hot water can be distributed via baseboard radiators or radiant floor systems or can heat air via a coil.

The heat produced passes through a heat exchanger, making it hot. Air from the home’s ductwork is blown over the heat exchanger, warming the air. The furnace’s blower then forces the heated air into the supply ductwork, distributing it throughout the home.

BOILERS HEATING SYSTEM

Boilers heat water, and provide either hot water or steam for heating. Steam is distributed via pipes to steam radiators, and hot water can be distributed via baseboard radiators or radiant floor systems, or can heat air via a coil.

The actual process of a commercial boiler is relatively simple: a heat source warms up water in a chamber and pushes it out into a commercial building where the hot water or steam provides sensible heat as it passes through radiators and other heat exchangers

Boilers are typically quieter than a furnace. This type of heating system provides more consistent heat. Boilers help improve your home’s indoor air quality. It does not move air, meaning it will not distribute dust, dirt, and other contaminants.

HEAT PUMPS HEATING SYSTEM

A heat pump uses technology similar to that found in a refrigerator or an air conditioner. It extracts heat1 from a source, such as the surrounding air, geothermal energy stored in the ground, or nearby sources of water or waste heat from a factory. It then amplifies and transfers the heat to where it is needed.

Heat pumps offer an energy-efficient alternative to furnaces and air conditioners for all climates. Like your refrigerator, heat pumps use electricity to transfer heat from a cool space to a warm space, making the cool space cooler and the warm space warmer.
